Who operates SANEL

SANELTM is operated by SANEL LLC. Privacy questions and requests can be submitted through the SANEL Help Center.

Information SANEL collects

SANELTM may store account information such as username, email address, optional phone number, housing preferences, household size and income entered for matching, saved searches, saved and followed listings, application-tracking markers, personal listing notes, notification preferences, support requests, listing feedback, and first-party product-usage events. When native push notifications are enabled in the installed iOS or Android app, SANEL also stores the device platform, a SANEL-generated installation key, and the APNs or FCM registration token needed to route alerts to that installation. Authentication credentials are handled by the authentication provider rather than stored as readable passwords by SANEL.

Information SANEL does not ask users to upload

SANEL is designed as a discovery, matching, organization, and alert service, not an official housing-application document repository. SANEL does not ask users to upload Social Security cards or numbers, government IDs, tax returns, bank statements, pay stubs, credit reports, background checks, Housing Connect passwords, or other official application documents. Users should submit those materials only through the official housing provider or application system.

How information is used

Information is used to provide account features, personalize housing matches and filters, remember saved and applied listings, generate requested alerts, route enabled push notifications to the correct browser or installed app, operate support and safety functions, improve source accuracy, understand aggregate product usage, and maintain the service.

Housing-profile information

Income, household size, bedroom, location preference, accessibility preference, and similar information are used to compare a user's profile with published housing criteria. SANEL does not submit that profile to a housing provider merely because a user views, saves, follows, or receives an alert about a listing.

Public and authorized housing sources

SANEL collects listing information from public, government, open-data, or authorized housing sources. User account information is not intentionally sent to those sources merely because a user browses a listing in SANEL. Following an external application or source link takes the user to another website, which may collect information under its own privacy policy.

Service providers

SANEL uses infrastructure and technology providers to host the application, database, authentication, analytics, alerts, and payment services. Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging may process native notification tokens and alert-delivery data when native push is enabled. Stripe processes web subscription checkout, recurring billing, invoices and receipts, payment-method information, and related tax calculations and billing services. Those providers process information as needed to provide their services. SANEL does not currently sell account or housing-profile information or use it for cross-site advertising tracking.

Payments and billing

For web Premium subscriptions, Stripe collects and processes payment-method and billing information under Stripe's own privacy practices. SANEL does not store full payment-card numbers or card security codes. SANEL stores limited subscription and billing records needed to operate Premium and resolve billing issues, such as the selected plan, subscription status, billing interval, trial and billing-period dates, cancellation status, and Stripe customer, subscription, checkout, price, and product identifiers. SANEL also records the subscription disclosure and policy versions accepted when checkout is opened so the company can document the terms presented to the account holder.

Analytics and device identifiers

SANEL uses first-party visitor and session identifiers to understand aggregate visits, sessions, feature use, listing views, saves, shares, and application-link clicks. For native push, SANEL uses a first-party installation key and the notification token issued for the installed app solely to register and route requested alerts. These identifiers are used for SANEL product operation and analytics, not advertising. Hosting and security providers may also process ordinary network and diagnostic information needed to deliver and protect the service.

Sale and advertising tracking

SANEL does not sell user account or housing-profile information to housing providers, listing sources, landlords, advertisers, or data brokers. SANEL does not currently use account data for third-party advertising or cross-app/cross-site tracking. If these practices change, this policy and applicable store disclosures will be updated before the new practice begins.

Retention

Active-account profile data, saved housing activity, preferences, and account history are retained while the account remains active unless the user deletes them or deletes the account. Native push registration tokens and installation keys are retained while the native subscription remains enabled for an active account and are removed when that subscription is disabled or the account is deleted. First-party visit records are automatically removed after 90 days. Product analytics events are automatically removed after 180 days. Read notifications older than 180 days are removed automatically. Resolved or closed support requests and resolved or dismissed listing reports are removed after 180 days. Unresolved support or safety records may remain while they are needed to complete the request. Public housing-listing records are not personal account data and may remain for listing history and source-integrity purposes.

Account deletion

A signed-in user can permanently delete the entire SANEL account from Profile → Account data & privacy. If the account has an active Stripe subscription, SANEL first attempts to cancel that subscription so no future SANEL renewal charges continue after account deletion. If the billing cancellation cannot be completed, SANEL does not delete the account and instead returns an error so the user can retry or contact support. After billing is resolved, account deletion removes the authentication account and account-linked profile, preferences, saved searches, personal notes, saved/applied/followed housing activity, alerts, browser and native push subscriptions, analytics linked to the account, support requests, listing reports, and SANEL-side subscription records. Stripe may retain transaction, invoice, tax, fraud-prevention, or other payment records for periods required by law or Stripe's own legal obligations. Non-account public housing records and aggregate operational metrics that do not identify the deleted account are not part of the user's account record. See the public account deletion page for the deletion path and help if sign-in is unavailable.

Security

SANEL uses authenticated access controls and row-level database policies designed to prevent users from reading or changing another user's private account data. Production infrastructure, authentication, administrative access, backups, and delivery systems are reviewed as SANEL develops. Data is transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

Users can update housing and notification preferences in their account, disable push notifications, export a JSON copy of account data, and permanently delete the account. Privacy or deletion assistance can be requested through the SANEL Help Center.

Children

SANEL is not intended for children to create accounts independently. Affordable-housing household information may include household composition, but account holders should not enter unnecessary sensitive information about minors.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as SANEL changes its notification, billing, analytics, mobile-app, or other functionality. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date and, when appropriate, an in-product notice.
