About SANEL

NYC affordable housing, organized in one place.

Who operates SANEL

SANEL is operated by SANEL LLC, an independent New York City company. For questions, corrections, or source-removal requests, contact admin@sanel.nyc or visit the Help Center.

What SANEL is

SANELTM is an independent New York City housing-information service that helps people discover and track affordable-housing opportunities. SANEL brings together factual listing information for affordable rental lotteries, re-rentals, waitlists, and affordable homeownership opportunities, then helps users filter, match, save, and follow those opportunities.

What SANEL is not

SANEL is not NYC Housing Connect, a government agency, a landlord, a property manager, a broker, or an affordable-housing marketing agent. SANEL does not award apartments, influence lottery odds, reserve units, determine eligibility, or process official housing applications.

Where listings come from

SANEL organizes housing facts from government, public, open-data, and authorized housing sources. Listings identify their source and, when available, link users to the official application or originating listing so eligibility and application instructions can be verified at the source.

What SANEL helps users do

Users can browse opportunities, compare published rent and income requirements, filter by housing preferences, save listings, track application status, and receive alerts about supported listings. Matching is informational and is based on the criteria published by the housing source and the preferences a user chooses to provide.

New York City focus

SANEL is built specifically around New York City's affordable-housing ecosystem, including Housing Connect lotteries and separate re-rental or waitlist programs administered by participating housing providers and marketing agents.

Independent and source-first

SANEL's goal is to make fragmented affordable-housing information easier to find without replacing the official source. Official applications stay with the responsible government system, housing provider, or marketing agent.
