Help with SANELTM
Affordable housing already has enough acronyms, portals, PDFs, and mysteriously placed application buttons. This page covers the SANEL part of the problem.
What does AMI mean?
AMI means Area Median Income. Affordable-housing programs use AMI bands, household size, and other rules to determine eligibility. SANEL summarizes published requirements, but the housing provider makes the final determination.
What is the difference between a lottery, re-rental, and waitlist?
A lottery has an application window and selection process. A re-rental is an affordable unit that becomes available after the original lease-up and may be first come, first served. A waitlist lets a housing provider collect applicants for current or future vacancies.
Does SANEL submit applications for me?
No. SANEL helps you discover and track opportunities, then sends you to the official housing provider or application portal. SANEL is not an official application portal.
Does a SANEL match guarantee eligibility or improve my odds?
No. A match is an estimate based on the information published by the source and the profile you saved. It does not guarantee eligibility, selection, a lease, or better lottery odds.
Why does a listing say Eligibility incomplete?
Some sources do not publish enough structured income, household, bedroom, or rent data for SANEL to confirm a match. SANEL leaves those listings discoverable instead of inventing missing requirements.
How often does SANEL verify listings?
Frequency varies by source. SANEL automatically checks supported feeds and shows a Last verified date on listing pages. Source websites can still change without warning, so always confirm the official listing before applying.
